Protect Your Family with The OurPact App

“I’m excited to introduce you today to a wonderfully helpful app, OurPact. All opinions are my own.“

There’s an ongoing battle around screen time for children. Between television, the computer, tablets, and other electronics, it seems that there are electronics in our face at almost every waking moment. In the past, it was easy to limit a child’s interaction with electronics. Simply cut off the television and hand them a book. Today, however, the immersion of electronics and education makes this a bit more complicated. The fact that your child is using an electronic doesn’t necessarily mean that they are “playing around”. They may be learning something in the process.

How the, do you set appropriate limits?

Well, if you have an IOS device it’s pretty simple. Just download OurPact.

What’s OurPact?

It’s a program that allows you to manage all of your children under one app. You can set limits for internet usage, application usage and more… all from your own device! That means you are able to monitor their usage, even when you aren’t there. You can even schedule an entire routine that accommodates for activities, bedtime, etc. Since we know that with parenting comes lots of flexibility and openness for change… you aren’t stuck with the schedule you choose.

You can block an app, grant access, or change the schedule at any time. Right from your phone. The responsibility doesn’t all lie with you, however.

Once you’ve downloaded the app and set up your schedule, print off the OurPact contract and read it over with your children. This opens up the discussion about social media etiquette, cyber bullying and more.

Check out this video highlighting the app!

I love that this app not only encourages restrictions on technology, but encourages families to work together to put them into place. I think this is a great app to use for children of all ages!
