I recently received a copy of the new devotional entitled “Adored: 365 Devotions for Young Women” and I must say that it couldn’t have been written at a better time. We are now living in a day and age where many of our young women are not feeling confident in who God made them. Some don’t even have an idea of their self-worth. Many of our young ladies are looking at the images that are depicted on TV in videos and magazines by celebrities, Most of which have been airbrushed or Photoshopped as being the way they should look. That’s why I really love this devotional.  The messages of Adored are so timely and geared especially to the things on young women’s minds. With a conversational style, each devotion is less than a page long and only takes minutes to read which is perfect as most young women are not spending long periods of time reading anything that is not on an electronic device.

I love the fact that each devotion begins with a passage of scripture. The devotion then focuses on an aspect discussed in the day’s scripture. For example, how much God adores you; a massively powerful God loves you; the defining characteristic of a Christian is love, etc. the daily devotional ends with several blank lines for the reader to respond to the message.

In an ever-changing world, we can be certain of one thing: we are beloved by God. Adored: 365 Devotions for Young Women tackles tough topics girls face, from bullying and social media to friendships and dating, all the while showing readers how infinitely precious they are in God’s sight.
