My husband and son are total knife collectors. Unlike most men, they don’t purchase knives to go fishing or hunting. They love showing off their knives to their buddies and comparing blades. They both actually carry knives with them wherever they go for protection, just like many guys did in the days of old. One of the major problems we have is finding a place to purchase good quality knives . We often travel an hour and a half just to find the knives because there are no quality knife shops in our area. My younger son who is so in love with all things Bruce Lee is getting more involved in Martial Arts and falling in love with swords and is quickly becoming a sword enthusiast.

I recently found out about a great online shop called Swords of the East. Swords of the East focus is mainly in offering quality swords and competitive blades for practicing martial artists and collectors. However they do offer a cool knife called the Cold Steel Kudo Knife which I was sent for the purpose of review.

Cold Steel makes some of the worlds strongest, sharpest, and most durable knives. I was happy to find out that you can rely on their durable products to last a lifetime and more. The knife is made with quality materials, cutting performance, and is very affordable in price.

The knife offers a stainless steel flat ground blade, heat treated to Rc 56-57 for better edge holding ability and ease of re-sharpening, and a thin razor sharp edge. For safety, there is a locking mechanism that is very child proof. At first we had a difficult time closing it but once we figured out that you close it  by pulling up on the ring attached to the back spring. We were super impressed and relieved that my son would not be able to open this knife and play around with it, possibly becoming injured. The handle of the Kudu is made of 43% glass reinforced Zytel. This material has proven to be extremely strong, and is stiff enough to compliment the blade and spring when locked open. Plus, the gripping surface has a wood grain texture for traction and features an attractive polished steel Kudu horn emblem for a little extra flair!

This knife is so durable, and can be used  for anything and makes a wonderful work knife, utility knife, bait knife, or hunting knife. If you are looking for the strongest,sharpest knife this is the one to go with.
