There is nothing more important to me than my families health.  Since the beginning of 2013 I have been transitioning to a healthier lifestyle. I started buying more and more natural,fresh, organic and artificial free foods. And that includes meats. If it is not hormone and antibiotic free, I stay clear of purchasing it.  One of the things that I quickly found out about eating green and healthy is that it often comes with a  hefty price tag.

I recently found out about a really great way to save money on Fresh hormone free meats from a company called Zaycon Foods and received 40 pounds of Chicken for the purpose of review. What set’s  Zaycon Foods  apart from other companies is that they deliver farm fresh meats and produce direct to consumers at wholesale prices and in bulk. Zaycon products are sold at events that are held in several regions all over the country.

The process is really quite simple. All you do is go to the Zaycon Foods website, find an event in your area, select the product that you are interested in and place your order. The companies sends you an emailed copy of your receipt and a reminder prior to your  Zaycon sales event. It’s really a smooth and easy transaction.

On the day of the sales event,  I pulled up to the address of my event. I was 10 minutes early because I didn’t really know what to expect. At 9:00 a.m sharp (which is the time that the event was scheduled for) the truck pulled up full of all of our orders.

 

All of us happy shoppers formed a line awaiting our fresh food in the parking lot watching as an entire tractor trailer’s worth of high quality natural food is unloaded into all of your cars! You will be amazed at how quickly the refrigerated trucks goes from being filled with natural, fresh chicken to being empty and back on its way to the farm!

 

The driver was very friendly and even placed the food into our cars.I was only there 10 minutes from the time the truck pulled in to the time he placed the chicken in my car. A Zaycon Foods truck sales event often lasts less time than you would spend on a trip to the grocery store, yet you will leave with a whole lot more food than you’d get at the market, and for much better prices, too.

The chicken was very well packaged.

When I opened the box I was pleasantly surprise at how cold the chicken was. I am so glad that I didn’t have to worry about spoilage during travel time.

The chicken was very clean and fresh. I must admit, because I am accustomed to purchasing my chicken after it has been cut by the butcher. However this is literally a whole boneless chicken breast. The entire process from the time that I opened the box and began cleaning the 40 pounds of chicken was just under one hour. It might not take you quite that long or it may take longer. It all depends on how you cut and package the chicken for freezing.

I personally clean and cut some of the chicken breast into Tenderloins and some I just cut in half to make a small roast.  Then I placed them in freezer bags and place them in the deep freezer. This will save me a lot of trouble and hassle later and make for quick and easy meal planning.

 Zaycon chicken is honestly the freshest that I have tried. When I cooked the boneless chicken, it was so moist. You could really taste all of seasonings. I’m sure because of the freshness.
