My family and I had recently had the opportunity to visit the Great Lakes Science Center. Although my children had been there before, my husband and I were super excited to visit the Lego Exhibit.
If you are not familiar with the Great Lakes Science Center and what it’s all about. The Center has more than 100 hands-on exhibits that satisfy and delight the curious scientist in each of us. There is the science of light, optics, sound, resonance, motion, mechanics, electricity, magnetism and weather. There is an Indoor Tornado, and so much more. The Great Lakes Science Center is famous for it’s awesome Omnimax Theater which features a six-story-high, domed theater with 11,600 watts of digital sound. My family saw the Island of Lemurs Madagascar and it was unlike anything that we imagined. While watching the film You’ll feel like you’re actually in the exciting adventure films.
Although the Great Lakes Science Center has several awesome exhibits. My family couldn’t wait to go to see the Lego Adventure. The Lego Adventure is to a Lego fan a candy store. The entire room was filled with Lego’s that the children could actually play with along with really cool Lego exhibits.
There is so much to see and do at the Great Lakes Science Center. I highly recommend that you plan an entire afternoon to see everything that they have to offer.

Another must see while at the center is the William G. Mather Steamship which is only open May- October and sits just outside of the Science Center. Discover what life onboard a working Great Lakes freighter was like as you tour this restored 618-foot historic flagship. Explore the 1925-builtMather from stem to stern and see its huge cargo holds, brass and oak pilot house, elegant guest quarters and four-story engine room. You can walk the decks and marvel at the “engineering firsts” that helped transform Northeast Ohio into a great industrial center.
